Terms & Conditions
Last updated: January 2026
These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by JD Roofs and all interactions with our website. By requesting a quotation, engaging our services, or using this website, you accept and agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Introduction
These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern all services provided by JD Roofs, a roofing contractor based in Manchester ("we", "us", "our" or "JD Roofs"). These Terms apply to all customers engaging our services, whether for residential or light commercial work.
By contacting us for a quotation, accepting a quotation, or proceeding with work, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not engage our services.
These Terms are effective from January 2026 onwards and apply to all new contracts entered into from this date.
2. Services
JD Roofs provides the following services:
- Roof repairs and maintenance
- Re-roofing and new roof installations
- Flat roofing systems (felt, EPDM, fibreglass)
- Pitched roof repairs and replacements (slate, tile, lead)
- Fascias, soffits and guttering installation and repair
Our services are provided throughout Greater Manchester and surrounding areas, including Salford, Stockport, Trafford, Bury and Bolton.
We reserve the right to decline any job that falls outside our service area or that we consider unsafe or unsuitable for our team to undertake.
3. Quotations & Estimates
We provide free on-site surveys and written quotations at no cost and with no obligation to proceed.
All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Quotations are based on the scope of works as assessed during the survey. If circumstances change or additional works are discovered during the job, the price may be adjusted and you will be informed before work continues.
Quotations do not form a binding contract until you formally accept them in writing or by agreeing to the terms when work commences.
4. Payment Terms
Payment terms will be agreed before work begins. Standard payment arrangements are as follows:
- For smaller repairs (under £500): payment in full upon completion
- For larger projects (£500 and above): a deposit of up to 25% may be required before work commences, with the balance due upon completion
- Payment methods: cash, bank transfer, cheque or card (fees may apply)
JD Roofs retains ownership of all materials and workmanship until payment in full has been received. We reserve the right to cease work if payment is not made on the agreed date, and to charge interest on overdue payments at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate.
5. Liability & Disclaimers
JD Roofs will carry out all roofing work with due care and in accordance with good workmanship standards. However, we are not liable for:
- Pre-existing defects in the structure, materials or roof that were not identified during the survey
- Weather-related damage occurring during or immediately after work (rain, wind, frost)
- Damage caused by third parties or natural events (storm, subsidence, tree fall) that occur after work is complete
- Damage resulting from poor maintenance by you after work is completed
- Leaks or damage that arise from defects in guttering, downpipes or drainage systems not covered by the quotation
Our liability is limited to the value of the contract only. We cannot be held responsible for any loss of business, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential damages.
6. Warranty
Workmanship Warranty: All work carried out by JD Roofs is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion. During this period, we will remedy any defects arising from poor workmanship at no additional cost (provided the damage is not due to misuse or lack of maintenance by you).
Materials Warranty: Materials used in the work are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, typically ranging from 5 to 10 years depending on the product. We will advise you of the specific warranty terms for materials used on your roof.
Warranty Exclusions: The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Weather damage or acts of nature
- Damage caused by poor maintenance or neglect
- Modifications to the roof made by third parties without our approval
- Leaks caused by structural movement or subsidence
To maintain the warranty, you must ensure the roof is properly maintained and cleared of debris. We recommend annual gutter cleaning to prevent water damage.
7. Health & Safety
JD Roofs complies fully with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and all relevant UK regulations. All our operatives are trained in safe working practices and use appropriate safety equipment at all times.
You, as the property owner or occupier, are responsible for:
- Providing safe access to the roof and working areas
- Ensuring the site is clear of hazards and third parties during work
- Informing us of any structural issues or hazards (asbestos, contamination, loose structures)
JD Roofs reserves the right to refuse to carry out work if we consider the site to be unsafe or if working conditions do not meet our health and safety standards.
8. Cancellation
You may cancel your quotation at any time before work commences. If you cancel after the survey has been completed and a quotation issued, any deposit paid is non-refundable.
If you cancel after work has begun, you are liable for all labour costs incurred and the cost of materials used or ordered specifically for your job. The exact amount will be calculated and agreed with you.
JD Roofs reserves the right to cancel any contract if you breach these Terms, fail to provide access or payment, or if we discover a safety hazard that prevents us from continuing work safely.

We will not share your information with third parties without your consent, except where required by law or to fulfil the service (e.g. invoicing, payment processing).

- Indirect or consequential loss (loss of profit, business interruption, lost data)
